From the great counselors who really took the time to get to know him, to the kids who were friendly and enthusiastic to the great program filled with trips and interesting activities -- he really didn't want to leave on Friday. Best regards, Elizabeth von Buedingen Though I said as much to Cookie and Tim in person, I felt it important to write to commend you on what a wonderful job you are doing at the Bank Street Summer Camp. My son, who is 4.5 years old, is attending your camp for the first time this summer. After challenging experiences at other camps, I am thrilled to feel secure that he is loving his camp experience and taking away so much. But the unexpected bonus and the thing for which I am most grateful, is not only is my son fulfilled time and activity wise, but that within the first three weeks of your summer camp, I noticed marked emotional and developmental growth in him, most especially in his ability to articulate his feelings; to reflect on, empathize with and be sensitive to other's feelings; to share; and to resolve conflict. This has not only benefited his friendships but also our relationship with each other, and for that I am most amazed, impressed and can't thank you enough. It was nice to have the house full with some children, very well behaved and polite, I might add! The counselors were great fun as well! Letter from a Counselor: Dear Cookie, I hope this isn't too early to start thinking about camp, but I have a few questions. Last summer I was in Spain and, therefore, couldn't work at camp because the schedules overlapped. I was wondering if there might be any openings for me this coming summer, possibly as a lifeguard (since you trained me!). I had such a great experience at camp the during the summers I worked there, so just let me know if I have any options-- I would really appreciate the chance to return. Thanks so much, Beccy
